Involvement in Sports

Ever since childhood, Sudhanshu Mittal has taken an active part in sports both at the school and college level.

He has persistently believed that participating in sports has a positive impact on the health, well being and academic performance of the students. Sudhanshu Mittal has always emphasized the fact that sports not only helps in building the character of a person but also help in promoting team spirit.

Sudhanshu Mittal has played, and has been associated with, sports like Archery, Atheletics, Badminton, Basketball, Football and Hockey since his schooltime. He himself is an avid badminton player and has been awarded the Veteran Badminton Player of Delhi award. From time to time, he has also held posts as an executive and chairman of national sports bodies like Indian Olympics Association, Archery Association of India and the organizing committe for the Basketball Championship for a year.

Ever since the demise of his political mentor, Late Mr. Pramod Mahajan, Sudhanshu Mittal has been organizing badminton tournaments every year in his fond memory at both the state and national level to bring out the untapped talent residing in all parts of the country. The success of the Pramod Mahajan Memorial Tournament in promoting young talent can be gauged from the fact that even national level players like Saina Nehwal and Anup Sridhare played in these tournaments at the start of their sporting careers.
